Southern Coach Maxwell throws ball at player
February 6th, 2010 by napa high
Coach Eric Maxwell of Southern High School (New Jersey) throwing a ball at one of his own players. Just another example of him taking his antics too far. Accidental or not, he should not have a job coaching athletes right now. We need role models.

Defending this guy for an action like that is reprehensible. We send our children to school to learn. I would never want my child to be sent into an environment where there is even the slightest threat of being injured by an “emotional” outburst by the coach. There is a reason why states like Pennsylvania and New Jersey require Criminal Background checks and Child Abuse checks. Those checks are to prevent against situations just like this. His actions are deplorable and he should be fired.

Toymachine875, you are right. America is in the shitter because there are very few teachers out there that are throwing Volleyballs at their own students heads. If only we could see the error in our ways. We should all propose this as the new Recovery Act. Forget Trillions of dollars in spending and creating jobs for people that have been laid off. Lets all go to a sporting goods store, buy a Volleyball and go throw it at some vulnerable kids head. Toymachine, you are an idiot.

Southern Regional School District Superintendant Craig Henry told The Press Monday afternoon that the incident was an anomaly and completely out of character for Maxwell.
“This coach is a faith-based individual and he is moved to emotion every time it comes up,” he said. “He’s a class act in everything he does.”

Oh, well that certainly puts me in my place. “Epic fail”! It makes me miss nostalgic for the good ‘ol days of 2008.

toymachine… I think you’ll find it’s “you’re”.
February 6th, 2010 at 5:51 pm
let me guess… this toymachine875 guy must be related in some way to this sad violent coach since he thinks what the coach did here is no big deal… What a sad loser & idiot with a twisted moral value.

@toymachine875
What a sad idiot picking fault with a typo… You must be stupid since you take everything literally & can’t seem to get the point that I am trying to get at. Keep thinking that this coach did nothing wrong & think that he should not be severely punished for what he did. Next time you are HURT by someone else’s valid comment here on youtube, then just go to your mommy & cry
February 6th, 2010 at 5:51 pm
your comparing this guy to a murderer(thats how you spell it)… your most likely one of those hypocrites that abuses their children asshole

@ nbd1782
Even a muderer or criminal all had some people that that they were nice to… what a self centered idiot you are. The coach needs to be punished.

@ jc112203, ElectricSteel77 and cuauhtemoc14. you are going off a video you watched on youtube! you dont go to the school, you dont play for the team, you dont know ANYTHING about him or the players. The girl who was hit is one of my good friends and she in no way was TO SCARED to press charges, shes knows maxwell deserves to be where he is and nothing less. Stop trying to drill false “assumptions” in other peoples heads. So shut it cause were all laughing at how ignorant you all are
February 6th, 2010 at 5:51 pm
really who the hell cares shit happens im sure the girl didnt die its a vollybally not like he chucked a bowling ball at the girl. people are so soft these days and thats why america is in the shitter

I can’t defend the action because I was not there, but I can absolutely defend the man and say that this man is not the monster people have made him out to be because of this clip. I played for him for three years and he was my favorite coach I have ever had. He is amazing at coaching, and I hate that this is going to tarnish his reputation, because he truly is a fantastic coach and person.

@ElectricSteel77 well actually I know the girl he hit with the volleyball. she was alright, but the coach’s actions were still over the top and was uncalled for

Little wannabe fascists like you sicken me.
February 6th, 2010 at 5:51 pm
funny u say that cause i’ve played my share of volleyball back in the day, genius, and i played a d1aa sport in college. and i agree with the fans running their mouths alot, but its the responsibility of a coach to control his players am i right? he even went to the papers and said he loved his team “playing with emotion.” we need some positive emotion bud, not the irrational shit that maxwell brings to the table.
