Budinger was the 2006 national volleyball player of the year. In one of the video clips Parker’s Garret Muagututia ’06 (UCLA volleyball), a friend and club teammate of Budinger, spikes a kill past Budinger. La Costa Canyon and Parker are the two most successful boys’ volleyball programs in San Diego; # 1 and # 2 in most CIF-San Diego Section championships.
