This features the Holmes High School (San Antonio TX) football team singing their rap song “Husky Proud” in November 1986. At the time, the team was undefeated and ranked #1 in Texas and #2 in the nation by USA Today. They would finish the season 11-1. Class of 2000. We lost to Katty in the playoffs. Its too bad our school went down hill after all the zone changes with the new schools opening. We have a weaker pool of athletes now.

Holmes WAS GOOD. Ima freshman at stevens, and we beat them like 30-0. If that’s there future, then its goin to be a long time till they get a winning season.

I attended Holmes that year. I can truly say that the Husky Pride was electric then. Nothing could bring down our pride. Even if our newer Huskies aren’t doing so well, we still need to keep our spirits and pride up and show our support.

im holmes class of 2001 the year of cedric griffin(minnesota vikings) darold williamson(olympic gold medal) and so forth we had pride and bled husty green and gold and still do to this day cant wait to get back to san antonio and watch my alma return to its glory days and i hope the ROWDY CREW is still there

he actually got out of holmes because nobody here really supported him, and it’s a shame, but I’m glad he’s moved on and we’ll move on. He did put a lot of hardwork into the school and he was head athletic coordinator and that’s hardwork, but he’s gone now – just recently and that’s a shame. It’s okay thought- hopefully a new coach will give our team a new start.

This video is awesome, considering our current pride for the past few years due to the losing, well-people don’t have much Husky Pride, sure there is some, but nothing like this! I mean it doesn’t matter if it was stupid, cocky, or silly the fact that they were a good team gives them a right, and they didnt just do it to be stupid, they did it for fun! Cant kids have fun? Just imagining the school pride that used to walk through those halls of Holmes High School fascinates me, Class of 2010

I went to Business Careers, up until my junior year, Holmes had a decent team. It seemed to go in the crapper after Cedric Griffin left

I remember our pride in the 1999-2000 season when we came thisclose to making it to state. Always Husky proud, even in the worst times.
