J.J. Redick 43 points in high school game

July 9th, 2009 by napa high

2002 Virginia Boys State Basketball Championship Cave Springs vs George Wythe JJ Redick hits 8 three-pointers and scores 43 points in his last high school game. Cave Springs won..though I’m not sure of the final score.

Crazy thing is JJ missed all but the first 4 regular season games for Cave Spring and they were 11-10 during the regular season, finished 3rd or 4th in their district. JJ comes back for the district tourney and they proceed to win 9 straight games including this state game over GW, i think the score was 55-48 if my mind serves me right. JJ scored 43 of his teams 55.

Their are two George Wythe High School’s in VA. One in Wytheville and one of Richmond. I’m from Central/SW Va and GW-Richmond has more afro-americans on their bball team than GW-Wytheville does in their whole school. Also GW-Wytheville is Class A, GW-Richmond is Class AAA

    GW is in Wytheville…

JJ went to Cave Spring HS, Suburban school in Southwest Roanoke County, just outside Roanoke City Limits. This school also produced Tiki and Ronde Barber. George Wythe HS, Inner City school in the heart of Richmond. Should have saw the crowds, interesting to look on each side, both crowds also cheer differently, it was great game though, best shooting performance i’ve ever witnessed, hands down.

This kid is nasty lol….I love the 3 on 2 situation with the head coach chillin right there staring at him while JJ totally disregards the situation and remembers to himself that the ball goes where he wants it to lol so he elegantly stops and of course drains it….Classic stud….Im from Maryland and I can still show respect for a shooter like that
