A helping hand

In the last two years the Lake Flyers girls basketball team won 40 straight league games. In that time they set many records that might never be broken. But now, their summer, their season, their school has in a sense vanished in the wake of Saturday’s devastating EF-3 tornado that demolished the high school. Though members of the high school basketball team were seen playing a pick-up game, their minds remain far from the court. Just a few hundred yards down the street is devastation. Houses destroyed. Trees blown over. The team is left picking up the pieces of what’s left.
