My wife and I won a flight tour of San Francisco Bay at a charity auction dinner for Dublin High School. We had a great time with a very experienced pilot in a Cirrus SR-20 single engine aircraft. We flew from Livermore Airport to Napa Valley Airport, and then from Napa Valley Airport back to Livermore Airport with a tour of the Golden Gate Bridge, downtown San Francisco and the Bay Bridge. This portion of the trip covers Livermore to Napa Valley and includes a take off from Livermore Municipal Airport and a landing at Napa Valley Airport. The weather was perfect. So a double win – we supported a great high school (Dublin High School) and had a romantic outing!

On January 23, 1972, with 36 seconds left in the game that pitted the home team Minnesota Golden Gophers verses the Ohio Buckeyes turned ugly as Ohio’s center Luke Witte was fouled hard going up for a layup. Minnesota’s Corky Taylor quickly helped Witte to his feet only to knee him in the groin. An ugly brawl ensued. This event is consider by many sport historians as one of the most embarrassing moments in college basketball.
